  • All previous versions are a 5!

Since I’ve updated, when I use the app the rest of my phone freezes and sometimes the app quits. I truly love this app when it works!!
  • Far superior to Podcasts

    By Girlreading
I switch to Overcast from Apple’s standard Podcasts app because I found it frustrating that I couldn’t view only my downloaded episodes separate from the rest. Podcasts became annoying to deal with especially on the go. If I’m in my car it’s not safe to search for downloaded episodes among hundreds. So I downloaded a few free podcast apps to see which I like best and Overcast came out the winner.I really enjoyed that when I download episodes they are in a separate list under that show page but I can also add all the episodes I want from any show to a playlist. That’s a really excellent feature and really the most important to me. it’s also really easy to figure out how to maneuver around the app.
  • Great App

    By Kelsi621
So like many others, I found myself with the latest iOS update hating the Apple podcast app. I’ve tried the other big podcast streaming apps available on the App Store, but this one’s strikes the perfect balance between not being too over complicated, yet having enough settings for me to make the app personalized to my preferences. It also has some of the old features that I like most about the old Apple podcast app. I think everyone will like the streamlined design of the app, but do try out the new features like smart speed and voice boost. They change the weight the podcast plays to make it more enjoyable. All in all, I’m very satisfied with this app, and I’m not sure that I would switch back to the old Apple app even if they brought it back.
  • Another Marco Labor of Love

Marco Arment creates tools he needs and some of them he refines into a publicly available app. Overwatch is one of those apps. It has some great features missing in other apps: Smart speed to minimize long pauses, Voice boost when not everyone's levels are in sync, True rotation of the app (when your device is upside down you can still read it when your iPhone is charging in a cradle and you are using headphones, etc.
  • Hate iOS 11 Apple Podcasts

    By RGIrv3
I loved the Apple Podcasts app up until iOS 11. Overcast is a great alternative. I just wish the option to remove the ads was a one time purchase opposed to a yearly subscription, oh well. I’ll keep the ads and hope that Apple repairs Podcasts when they release iOS 12.
  • Overnight 70% battery usage!

    By Wikkett
I used to love this app, but for some reason it is absolutely sucking my battery dry while I’m asleep. No it is not downloading podcasts or playing anything. Also my sub for the app recently ran out and I noticed the ads were using GIGS of data while I was off network (I download all of my podcasts manually at home on my WiFi, so it’s not those). Not cool. Going to give Pocket Casts a go.
