  • Unable to sync with my cloud services

This app had been unusable to me for the last few months. It had been crashing every single time I attempted to sync with my cloud services. Reported the problem on numerous occasions, but not a single reply from the developer. Extremely poor support. Used to be good, but I would not recommend it at all now. I would have given it a 0 star if I can.

For me this app is very useful in every day activities. I would like to see support for EPUB and more PDF editing tools. Worth every penny!!! ***Update*** Still use the app for a lot of my work every day. BUT i’m a bit frustrated of all the waiting on updates for stability and new features. In the past i use to recommend the app to everyone, but with the current version been so buggy, don't anymore. It’s been almost three years since the last significant update and one year of the developer saying an update is coming... My next update will on stars rating. But i will wait for that because of the potential.
  • Great app. I use it every day.

I have documents I use on a regular basis, recordings of a course I'm studying, photos of documents and books. You can access everything very easily, search, read comfortably and share with email, airdrop and other apps. Also it's easy to save documents you download from internet and move things between your computer and iPhone/iPad with iTunes. you can have different files on your iPad's Goodreader and you iPhone's .

I loved Goodreader. Used it for all my knitting patterns and some other things as well. Until I upgraded to iOS 11 and then had to upgrade (pay for) Goodreader 4. Turns out you HAVE to have a computer to migrate your files from 3 to 4. No dice here. I'm stuck. No access to all the files I had saved and annotated, and I'm out $4.99 besides. If I could give -5 stars, I would.

When my iPad told me that Goodreader was no longer supported, I went to the App Store and found I had to pay $5 to continue using an app I've used (and given positive reviews to) since 2010. I debated switching to Documents, but decided to stick with Goodreader because I was familiar with the interface and the Migration Assistant promised to help get my old Goodreader files back. Except it wouldn't, because the old app “wouldn't open for some reason”. No kidding, that’s what the error message said. Useless. And there’s nothing in the Troubleshooting or Help to address this catastrophic failure. So my old annotated PDFs appear to be lost forever. The file manager interface is a lot more complicated than it used to be. You can't just open and view a file on Dropbox, you have to either download or sync it—added steps with little apparent value to me. I’m sure it adds a lot of capabilities that I will never use, but it’s less convenient and less intuitive to keep doing what I've always done (and wanted to continue doing). All in a ll, a huge disappointment.
  • used to be great, now it just crashes

This app used to be great. However, with the latest update, it just crashes within 30 seconds of opening a PDF every single time. Wish there was a way to rollback to an older version alas, iTunes 12.7 got rid of that option. I've emailed multiple crash reports to the developer. Alas, nothing has ever come of it.

An iOS update rendered my previous version of GoodReader obsolete. Only after I got a new iPad did I also purchase the new version of GoodReader so I could access all my files saved within the previous version. But guess what? The two versions are incompatible, and apart from having my old iPad (which I don’t) or access to an old backup on a device running a previous version of the iOS my docs are history! I have no other app on any of my apple devices that was incompatible with a previous version and rendered my data obsolete after an iOS update! Good Riddance, GoodReader!

I am having problems syncing my files with a cloud service and the app support team is completely MIA.
