Description

Love RSS feeds? So do we!! RSS feeds are a great way to follow updates on your favorite website. However, some sites set up their feeds to only show a portion of each entry, you know, to get you to click through to their actual website. We find that really annoying, and we're sure you do too. Which is why, unlike other RSS feed readers, that either push you into a browser (in-app or otherwise), or depend on third party text parsing services and require you to be online to fetch the full text of one article at a time (which makes it no different from having to click/tap through to a website), in lire, you get your favorite RSS feeds as they should've been. You don't need to click through to any website (though, you do still have the option to, if you really wanted). It takes your favorite partial feeds, does it's magic, and converts them in to full feeds, so you don't have to click/tap on those annoying 'Read more' or 'Continue reading' links. Once they're cached, you don't even need to be connected to read your full-text feeds. Use as a standalone feed reader, or, sync with any of the several services: Feedly, Feedbin, FeedHQ, The Old Reader, Inoreader, BazQux Reader, Newsblur.

Just bought the app and not really thrilled. Wish the interface allowed me to have list of sources in the folder collapse out of the folder and then maintain visibility of list of articles when reading an article
  • Beautiful RSS reader

I love how beautiful this app is and how it has a very native iOS look and feel to it. This is the strongest part of this app. Feedly and Pocket integration are also crucial features in the RSS experience. I am a big fan of the customizations you can make in the Settings menu, including caching options swiping actions. I would like to see more settings added in the future. Suggestions for improvement: Change search from the magnifying glass button, to a pull-down-to-reveal search bar available in all feeds and folders, not just the top-level feed list. Add Home Screen Quick Actions (View All, View Unread) Under Article List Options, add a Add Tap-and-hold action Add a “Do nothing” option for the Swipe To Left/Right/etc menu Change the “Mark all as read” button to use the native iOS list menu

It’s as close to perfection than any rss reader has ever been for my needs and wants.

A fantastic, stable, well designed and oft-updated RSS app. Highly recommended.

The best reader app there is! I tried them all, and this is the best and most functional there is! A win all the way around! Had a question and developer helped me, thank you very much!
  • Doesn't sync

90% of the time I can't get the app to sync. It just sits there "syncing..." But nothing happens. Or I get an "internal error" (error 500?). Another RSS reader syncs the exact same service perfectly fine so I know that Lire's the problem. Disappointed I spent money on the app.

Perfect themes. Perfect app. This is now my default rss reader on my iPhone X. Simply amazing.

Seriously, thank you for this app. I’ve been a long time Digg user and have been using their app for a while. But it’s just not supported anymore and has too many bugs. This is the RSS Feed reader app that I’ve been wanting. It would be great if you could 3D press the app’s home screen icon to take you right into a currently updating unread all items list. That’d be cool.
  • Kind of a bummer

I purchased this app based on the recommendation of a podcast (app stories). The app is okay, but there are a few problems that make regret spending $7. 1) the author of the article is not shown. My other rss reader does this (Feedly) 2) it draws from my feedly and has an ugly bar at the bottom that shows the feedly thing for no good reason 3) Marking articles as read is a chore 4) if an article is just a link to another site on one of my feeds, the whole article is copied into the feed of the linker. This is hard to explain but often times I would think I was reading an article by one person and then find out halfway through it was just a link to another site. This app has promise but for $7 it’s a non starter and I cannot recommend it over something like feedly.

This app used to rock. Lately it's been crashing lately and now the browser isn't opening links. A shame.
