I love the dynamic method of teaching a language! It does keep you quite focused and fully engaged; it is a well thought technique that do encourage individuals -in an entertaining manner- to commit to learn.
  • Generally ok, needs some help.

I've spent the last now 4 years studying Rosetta Stone from 2-4 hours a day. You learn many words and start speaking very basic German, but Rosetta Stone has NOTHING ON GERMAN GRAMMAR. The slides and instructors correct you, but any basic German grammar MUST BE OBTAINED ONLINE OR ANOTHER SOURCE. The instructors are great, but I find that many times other students have less that good microphones or maybe should not be in the class they are signed up for. The short group classes are a let down after all my study time. All in all, I would recommend it, but realize it is just one block on learning. I have written Rosetta Stone about grammar, but they never reply. I also spend up to 50 days a year in Germany practicing my German. My next step is getting a tutor as Rosetta Stone only takes you so far. RS has recently made ALL INCOMING CALLS go to India first, then routed back to the USA. What a terrible waste of time for us consumers and RS! Lately I'm having a tough time with the Internet connection working 100% of the time. Yes, I do get credit for missed classes, but trying to reschedule sometimes takes 7-10 days, certainly not fun when you are studying so hard. The ABSOLUTE WORST THING ROSETTA STONE does, is having ALL TELEPHONE CALLS BE DIRECTED TO INDIA AND TECHNICAL HELP. The supporters are very nice, but many many times they cannot help you. Then try to get them to redirect your call back to the US is maddening and a TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR TIME. The US support team is TERRIFIC, but having to be on hold for 30 minutes or more is nuts. I guarantee the person who devised this Indian connection has NEVER BEEN A STUDENT OF ROSETTA STONE!!!
  • Why is there no translation for the word and only a picture?

Personally I like this app but we don’t get the translation of the word we’re saying, only a picture so we have to guess.
  • Nice Interactive App; But No Written Grammatical Instructions

I really like this app, and I believe it is helping me to internalize certain uses of words. But the structured side of me misses some sort of grammatical rules and guideline to reference in passing. In that regard, the free Duolingo app was enjoyable, but not as sophisticated.

I am a life long student of the Spanish language. Over the last year I’ve used Duo lingo and a text book called Spanish for Gringos for my self study. What I like about Rosetta Stone is that I am challenged by the exercises and get that ‘in over my head’ feeling like when I’m interacting with a native speaker. This helps me know I am being challenged. I received a 12 mo. Subscription for Christmas but could definitely see continuing once it’s up.
  • they make it fun and easy!

I think the app is great, my only issue is that I have to sign in every time I open the app. And to me that gets very irritating.
